Astra, in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), launched the Astra Export Champion: UMKM “BISA” Ekspor program on May 19, 2025. The initiative aims to enhance the capacity and competitiveness of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia for global markets.

The launch event was attended by several notable figures including Indonesia’s Minister of Trade Budi Santoso, Director General of National Export Development Fajarini Puntodewi, Special Staff for Inter-Agency Relations Slamet Nur Achmad, Director of Primary Product Export Development Miftah Farid, and Astra’s Chief of Corporate Affairs Boy Kelana Soebroto.

The program not only focuses on technical capacity building but also aims to develop a resilient entrepreneurial mindset with global competitiveness through a six-month series of activities. These include general export understanding classes, incubation sessions, business plan mentoring, business matching events, and participation in international exhibitions like Trade Expo Indonesia 2025.

Participants are encouraged to design sustainable export strategies to help elevate Indonesian MSMEs and make them active players in international trade.

Melalui pemberdayaan UMKM…”

This initiative aligns with Astra’s Desa Sejahtera and Kampung Berseri programs established since 2013 to support government efforts in economic welfare improvement through regional flagship product development.

To date, Astra has supported 1,515 villages across 35 provinces in Indonesia and facilitated their flagship products’ entry into international markets with an export valuation reaching Rp349 billion.

The development of MSME products is further supported by Yayasan Dharma Bhakti Astra which has guided over 13,663 MSMEs nationwide creating employment for 75,451 people.

Previously held collaborations between Astra and the Ministry included export training classes and business matching events with various trade promotion centers. Notable milestones include export releases from Desa Sejahtera Turen Malang in 2024 and Bayan Purworejo in 2025 along with participation in international expos such as those held in China-Asean regions among others.

Astra remains committed to enhancing MSME capacities towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for a prosperous future for Indonesia.
