Bank DBS Indonesia has collaborated with government officials and experts to address strategies for inclusive and sustainable growth amid global economic challenges. The Asian Insights Conference 2025, themed “Growth in a Changing World,” brought together key figures including Hashim S. Djojohadikusumo, Rosan Roeslani, Chatib Basri, Burhanuddin Muhtadi, Lim Chu Chong, and Taimur Baig. They explored structural challenges and policy directions that could drive Indonesia’s growth.
Lim Chu Chong emphasized the importance of decisiveness and agility for businesses facing uncertainty. He stated that Bank DBS Indonesia aims to leverage its Asian network to unlock cross-border opportunities supporting sustainable growth. “Through the DBS Asian Insights Conference 2025, we aim to foster cross-sector discussions to achieve long-term, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth.”
The conference also addressed concerns over U.S. tariff policies under the Trump 2.0 administration affecting labor-intensive sectors like textiles and footwear in Indonesia. Special Envoy Hashim S. Djojohadikusumo expressed optimism about Indonesia’s potential for up to 8 percent economic growth by increasing state revenue through technology such as electronic tax systems.
A special session titled “Beyond the Numbers: Charting Indonesia’s New Economic Course” featured insights from Chatib Basri and Taimur Baig on strengthening domestic economy resilience through digital transformation and foreign investment flows. They noted that despite global trade tensions, Indonesia remains resilient due to limited U.S. trade exposure.
Burhanuddin Muhtadi discussed political dynamics under new administration policies like the free nutritious meal program (MBG), which could influence political stability and government spending direction.
Bank DBS Indonesia is committed to supporting clients’ transition toward greener business models through increased financing related to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. Anthonius Sehonamin highlighted this commitment as part of their vision to be the “Best Bank for a Better World.”
