Samsung Electronics has launched its new large-screen Odyssey G7 monitors at Gamescom 2025, held in Cologne, Germany from August 20 to 24. The company is also showcasing its expanding glasses-free Odyssey 3D gaming ecosystem and announced partnerships with major game publishers and developers.

“We are thrilled to unveil our latest products and new gaming partnerships at a world-leading event like Gamescom,” said Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President and Head of Enterprise Business Team of the Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. ”Our recent collaborations will deliver more authentic gameplay through optimized 3D effects tailored to each title. We will continue to lead the premium gaming monitor market by enhancing hardware performance and deepening game partnerships like these.”

According to International Data Corporation (IDC), Samsung has maintained its position as the leading global gaming monitor brand for six consecutive years, holding an 18.9% global market share in the first quarter of 2025. In Europe, Samsung leads with a 24.6% market share.

The new Odyssey G7 (G75F model) comes in two sizes: a 37-inch 4K UHD model with a standard aspect ratio and a 40-inch Wide UHD model offering higher resolution and a wider screen format. These models expand options beyond existing monitor sizes on the market.

Both monitors support Picture-by-Picture (PBP) and Picture-in-Picture (PIP) features for multitasking, are VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified, and offer brightness up to 350 nits for improved contrast and color reproduction.

Gamescom attendees can try out “Genshin Impact” on both display sizes at Samsung’s booth in hall nine. The Odyssey G7 is now available in Korea and the United States, with European availability scheduled for September.

Samsung is also growing its glasses-free Odyssey 3D ecosystem through new collaborations. At Gamescom, it announced work with Netmarble and SHIFT UP, allowing visitors to experience titles such as “MONGIL: STAR DIVE” from Netmarble and “Stellar Blade” from SHIFT UP in glasses-free 3D for the first time at Samsung’s booth.

From August 22-23, Samsung will host The World of #PlayGalaxy user experience event at Dock2 in central Cologne, featuring devices including Galaxy Z Fold7 and Odyssey 3D monitors.

Odyssey 3D uses depth effects that adapt dynamically without requiring special glasses. Adjustable focal distance features allow players to customize their viewing experience per game using parallax adjustments between left- and right-eye images.

Samsung’s dedicated platform — Odyssey 3D Hub — currently supports over two dozen games in glasses-free 3D mode; this library is expected to grow past fifty titles by year-end as more games become compatible through updates via platforms such as MS Store or directly from Samsung.com.

Additionally, Samsung has partnered with studios including Blizzard and Pearl Abyss to supply flagship OLED displays throughout Gamescom’s exhibition floor. This includes the high-refresh-rate Odyssey OLED G6 (500Hz) model as well as the high-resolution Odyssey OLED G8 (240Hz), allowing visitors across partner booths to view games’ graphics on these displays.

Samsung’s stand can be found on Floor 1, Hall 9 at booths B030 and C031 during Gamescom 2025.
