Samsung Medison is drawing attention at the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG 2025) in Cancún, Mexico, by presenting its ultrasound diagnostic solutions designed for women’s health throughout all life stages. The company is introducing its comprehensive women’s health solution under the theme “From Challenges to Solutions: Experience the Innovation.”
The upgraded HERA Z20 system will be a central focus at ISUOG 2025. This equipment supports healthcare professionals in managing various aspects of women’s health with a single device, addressing needs from adolescent gynecological conditions and fertility to maternity and aging.
Among the new features are PelvicAssist and three types of reporting functions aimed at supporting diagnostics for complex gynecological conditions. PelvicAssist provides automatic analysis of multiple pelvic regions and measures the levator hiatus area, producing a 3D image.
Samsung Medison has also introduced tailored diagnostic reporting based on standardized clinical guidelines. For example, Fibroid 2D simplifies uterine fibroid reporting using The International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) guideline. Other tools such as IDEA and IETA streamline workflow efficiency for endometriosis and endometrial tumor evaluations by supporting scan procedures and reporting based on established guidelines.
The Mini ER7 probe was developed to reduce patient discomfort during gynecological exams, featuring a head that is 63% smaller than conventional probes. This design aims to ease examinations for both adolescent and elderly patients.
With an increase in maternal age leading to more high-risk pregnancies, Samsung Medison has added an Ophthalmic Artery feature to help detect systemic vasoconstriction early—a key factor in pre-eclampsia. Because the Ophthalmic Artery branches directly from the internal carotid artery, it allows indirect monitoring of cerebral blood flow for early detection of potential cardiovascular disease. The expanded HeartAssist function also offers real-time monitoring of cardiovascular conditions during pregnancy.
Efficiency for healthcare professionals remains a focus; Live ViewAssist can automatically extract up to 39 ultrasound cross-sectional images with automated annotations and measurements across pregnancy stages, helping reduce diagnostic time. QualityCheck evaluates image quality during fetal diagnosis to support consistent accuracy.
Jihyun Kim, Head of the CX group at Samsung Medison said: “The Upgraded HERA 20 is more than just an equipment enhancement but it’s a total solution designed to support women’s health across all life stages. By combining AI technology with the healthcare professional’s clinical experience, we aim to enhance diagnostic accuracy and reduce burdens, ultimately driving meaningful change in the healthcare field.”
