Samsung Electronics has introduced the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S11, aiming to deliver an advanced tablet experience. The new devices feature the latest Galaxy AI, enhanced by One UI 8 and new multimodal capabilities. According to Samsung, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is the thinnest model in its lineup so far, while maintaining performance standards expected from a premium tablet.
The series is designed for productivity on the move, combining professional-grade hardware with software experiences optimized for large screens. Upgrades include a redesigned S Pen and improved Samsung DeX, supporting multitasking and creative work in a portable format.
Jay Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Office at Samsung Electronics’ Mobile eXperience Business, said: “The Galaxy Tab S11 series combines AI innovation with refined hardware to deliver a true multitasking experience that reflects Samsung’s deep experience in mobile productivity. With the latest Galaxy AI and new multimodal capabilities, these flagship tablets enable ultimate efficiency – empowering users to work, create and flow more naturally across a versatile, large screen.”
One UI 8 brings multimodal AI features that interpret user input—typed text, voice commands, or visual cues—and respond with real-time suggestions. These tools are intended to support various tasks such as note-taking or creative projects.
The tablets come equipped with upgraded hardware including Samsung’s enhanced 3nm processor. For the first time in this series, users will see improvements in processing power—Samsung states that the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra offers increases of 33% in NPU performance, 24% in CPU performance, and 27% in GPU performance compared to its predecessor. The devices also have batteries tested under third-party laboratory conditions for reliability during extended use.
Samsung DeX now includes Extended Mode for dual-screen setups and allows creation of up to four separate workspaces tailored for different activities like work or travel planning. Users can drag apps between displays or reference documents on one screen while presenting on another.
The design emphasizes portability without sacrificing display quality; the Ultra model measures just 5.1 mm thick with narrow bezels expanding screen space. Both models feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays offering up to 1600 nits peak brightness for visibility indoors or outdoors.
A range of third-party apps—including Goodnotes (with a one-year free version), Clip Studio Paint (six-month trial plus subscription discount), LumaFusion (discounted purchase plus free Creator Pass month), Notion (one-month Plus plan trial), Noteshelf 3 (discounts available), ArcSite (trial period plus subscription discount), Sketchbook, and Picsart—are available for download through official app stores depending on region.
Launching as the first Galaxy tablet series with One UI 8 pre-installed, these models will be available starting September 4 in select markets and offered in Gray and Silver color options. One UI 8 will also become available for previous generations like the Galaxy Tab S10 series beginning October.
