Samsung Electronics has announced a series of security and privacy updates for its upcoming Galaxy smartphones featuring One UI 8. These updates aim to enhance mobile technology security in the digital age by introducing new protections for on-device AI, expanding cross-device threat detection, and improving network security with quantum-resistant encryption.

The company is launching Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP), a new architecture designed to protect personalized, AI-powered features. KEEP creates encrypted storage environments within the device’s secure area, ensuring each app can only access its own sensitive information.

KEEP supports Galaxy’s Personal Data Engine (PDE) by securing personal insights like routines and preferences that enable features such as Now Brief and Smart Gallery search. These insights remain on-device, protected by KEEP and further secured by Knox Vault, Samsung’s tamper-resistant hardware security environment.

Samsung is also advancing protections through One UI 8 with Knox Matrix. This system delivers proactive protection for connected Galaxy devices. When a device faces serious risks like system manipulation or identity forgery, it automatically signs out of the Samsung Account to prevent threats from spreading.

Users receive notifications across their connected devices and are guided to review issues on the ‘Security status of your devices’ page. Even without the latest updates, devices trigger warnings to help users respond before vulnerabilities grow.

Additionally, Samsung is enhancing Secure Wi-Fi with post-quantum cryptography through Post-Quantum Enhanced Data Protection (EDP). This upgrade strengthens network protection against emerging threats anticipated in the era of quantum computing.

Secure Wi-Fi now includes a cryptographic framework designed to protect key exchanges during encrypted connections, ensuring robust privacy even over public networks. This fortifies data transmissions between Galaxy devices and Samsung servers in high-risk environments like public Wi-Fi.

These updates reflect Samsung’s commitment to evolving mobile security with innovation. They strengthen on-device privacy for personalized AI with KEEP, expand transparency through Knox Matrix, and introduce quantum-resistant protection to Secure Wi-Fi for a future-ready experience.
