Singtel has introduced its 5G+ Mobile Workspace, a new enterprise solution that integrates devices, data plans, and lifecycle management into a single platform. Developed in partnership with Ericsson and HP Inc, the service aims to support professionals and businesses working in hybrid environments by offering secure and efficient connectivity from any location.

The solution uses Ericsson’s Enterprise Virtual Cellular Network (EVCN), which automates eSIM profile management and allows enterprises to control eSIM activation and deployment. This automation is designed to simplify operations and reduce IT overheads. HP provides enterprise-grade, AI-ready laptops that come pre-configured with Singtel’s 5G+ eSIM, enabling immediate secure connectivity. An intelligent management platform activates 5G connectivity according to company policies, allowing IT teams to manage devices and monitor usage throughout their lifecycle.

According to the EY 2024 Work Reimagined Survey, about 76% of employers in Singapore are adopting hybrid work models, which has led to concerns about connectivity, security, and IT complexity for enterprises. Singtel’s new platform addresses these challenges by providing a secure, cloud-native, and AI-driven mobility solution.

Keith Leong, Managing Director, Enterprise, Singtel Singapore, said, “Hybrid work and cloud applications are transforming enterprise operations. Singtel’s 5G+ Mobile Workspace removes the need for enterprises to set up extensive fixed infrastructure of their own or rely on public networks. They can deploy mobile workforces, pop-up operations and smart field services with confidence with our secure, scalable and intelligent platform. This innovation gives professionals and businesses the freedom to work, collaborate and even innovate on the go, with confidence that their connections are fast, reliable and protected, wherever they may be.”

The 5G+ Mobile Workspace offers real-time communications, including voice, messaging, and video, without requiring additional infrastructure. Security features include SingVerify, which authenticates digital identities using telco APIs, and Mobile Protect, a network-level defense that blocks threats before they reach users’ devices—even when users are overseas.

Daniel Ode, Head of Ericsson, Singapore, Philippines & Brunei, said, “In collaborating with Singtel on 5G+ Mobile Workplace, we are demonstrating how EVCN can enable enterprise to embed connectivity into everyday business processes, such as automated pre-provisioning of 5G services on laptops for new employees and consultants, which can be seamlessly integrated as part of the recruitment process with a zero-touch end-user experience. EVCN interacts with AI Agents, providing personalized analytics which allow enterprises to automate entire workflows, powering IT modernization that enables business transformation.”

Samir Shah, Vice President and Head of Personal Systems for Greater Asia, HP Inc., said, “As AI continues to reshape how we work, professionals are seeking smarter, more secure ways to stay productive and connected. At HP, we design solutions that empowers the workforce to harness the full potential of AI. We have the largest portfolio of AI PCs in the industry that are built to deliver meaningful performance, seamless connectivity, and enhanced security. We are delighted to partner Singtel for this offering, combining HP’s AI-ready devices with Singtel’s advanced 5G+ infrastructure to drive the future of work and unlock new possibilities for businesses across the region.”

The platform provides a unified dashboard for IT teams to monitor device usage, enforce compliance, allocate resources, and apply access policies by app, user, or location. This eliminates the need for on-site infrastructure and simplifies management across distributed teams. Advanced network services such as network slicing are also available, supporting high-speed data transfer and real-time analytics.

Singtel’s nationwide 5G+ coverage uses the 700MHz spectrum, delivering improved indoor connectivity, low latency, and speeds up to four times faster than previous networks. The company has demonstrated the scalability of its network at large events such as the F1 Grand Prix Singapore and National Day Parade by maintaining seamless connectivity during periods of peak demand.

The security features of the workspace include Enterprise Mobile Protect, which uses next-generation firewalls and network slicing to detect and neutralize threats like malware and phishing links before they reach mobile devices globally. SingVerify uses telco APIs such as Number Verify and Device Location to validate user identities instantly, helping reduce digital fraud.
