Singtel’s Digital InfraCo has announced the launch of a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Applied AI in partnership with NVIDIA. The initiative is part of Singtel Group’s broader plan to strengthen Singapore’s AI ecosystem by combining infrastructure, applications, solution providers, and international expertise to address industry challenges. The CoE aims to support both enterprises and government agencies in accelerating AI pilot programs, reducing costs, and developing talent through practical exposure to AI technologies.

The launch event was attended by Tan Kiat How, Senior Minister of State at the Ministry of Digital Development and Information.

Bill Chang, CEO of Singtel’s Digital InfraCo unit, said, “Nxera has been developing the next-generation of industry-leading and sustainable, AI-ready data centres in Singapore and the region. Together with RE:AI, our high-performance sovereign AI cloud and our extensive network infrastructure, we are support the AI transformation for enterprises and industries at speed and scale.

Our strategy goes beyond building state-of-the-art AI infrastructure. We have seen many organisations struggle to move from the excitement of AI to meaningful impact, which is why the Centre of Excellence for Applied AI with NVIDIA is a critical pillar of our strategy. Through this collaboration, we provide access to world-class AI platforms, models, applications, expertise and training, helping enterprises learn, experiment, develop their capabilities to harness AI responsibly. We are bringing the ecosystem together, one that transforms ambition into real-world outcomes, and potential into lasting economic and societal impact – further contributing to advancing Singapore’s National AI imperative.”

This effort aligns with Singapore’s recent Budget 2026 announcement that prioritizes using artificial intelligence as a strategic national asset for transforming key sectors.

Many organizations in Singapore face difficulties moving from experimental phases to large-scale deployment due to complex infrastructure needs and skill shortages. The CoE seeks to address these issues by offering structured pathways for developing and deploying AI solutions more efficiently. As demand grows for powerful computing resources needed by larger models—and as organizations seek greater assurance over data security—the CoE integrates NVIDIA technology with Singtel’s sovereign cloud platform RE:AI. This setup allows organizations more control over their data while leveraging advanced capabilities.

Ronnie Vasishta, Senior Vice President of Telecommunications at NVIDIA stated: “By combining NVIDIA AI infrastructure with Singtel’s sovereign AI cloud, we are enabling a secure and collaborative space where organisations and government agencies can progress from trials to scaled deployments with confidence. This initiative will empower businesses and public agencies to unlock new opportunities with AI, strengthen local talent, and drive impactful innovation.”

The CoE will offer an environment where participants can bring real-world problems for experimentation using direct access to both companies’ technical experts. Focus areas include designing data centers optimized for high-density power use required by advanced language models; building an ecosystem involving model developers; enhancing Edge AI capabilities such as robotics; and cultivating applied skills among local talent through research projects.

Through this partnership between Singtel Digital InfraCo and NVIDIA—combining advanced infrastructure with applied knowledge—the CoE aims to help businesses adopt emerging technologies responsibly while generating long-term economic benefits.
