SK hynix reported its financial results for the third quarter of 2025, posting revenues of 24.4489 trillion won, an operating profit of 11.3834 trillion won, and a net profit of 12.5975 trillion won. The company said this was its highest-ever quarterly performance, driven by increased prices for DRAM and NAND products and higher shipments of high-performance memory for AI servers.
Operating profit surpassed 10 trillion won for the first time in SK hynix’s history. The company attributed these results to growing demand from customers investing in AI infrastructure, which led to record sales of products such as HBM3E and DDR5 for servers.
Shipments of high-capacity DDR5 modules (128GB or more) more than doubled compared to the previous quarter. In addition, sales of enterprise SSDs used in AI servers also grew significantly.
At the end of the third quarter, SK hynix’s cash and cash equivalents rose by 10.9 trillion won from the previous quarter to reach 27.9 trillion won. Interest-bearing debt stood at 24.1 trillion won, resulting in a net cash position of 3.8 trillion won.
The company noted that as AI workloads shift toward inference tasks distributed across broader server infrastructures, demand is expected to grow further across all memory product lines, including DDR5 and eSSD solutions.
Recent strategic partnerships and expansion announcements by global AI companies are also expected to support balanced growth in demand not only for HBM but also other memory solutions for general servers.
To meet customer needs, SK hynix plans to speed up migration to its sixth-generation 10-nanometer process technology (1cnm), which is already in stable mass production. This will allow the company to offer a full lineup of DRAM products for server, mobile, and graphics applications while expanding supply flexibility. In NAND production, output will increase for advanced products such as the world’s highest-layered (321-layer) TLC and QLC chips.
The company has completed discussions with major customers regarding HBM supply for next year. Mass production has begun on HBM4 following development completion in September; shipments are set to start in the fourth quarter with broader sales planned next year.
SK hynix stated it has already secured customer demand for all DRAM and NAND output through next year due to strong market interest in AI memory products.
To address higher-than-expected demand, SK hynix will expand production capacity at its M15X facility where new equipment installation is underway after opening a new cleanroom early. The company also plans increased investment next year compared with this year as part of its strategy aligned with market trends.
“With the innovation of AI technology, the memory market has shifted to a new paradigm and demand has begun to spread to all product areas,” said Kim Woohyun, Chief Financial Officer. “We will continue to strengthen our AI memory leadership by responding to customer demand through market-leading products and differentiated technological capabilities.”
