Toyota Motor Corporation has announced several changes to its executive and senior management structure, effective April 1, as well as updates to its Board of Directors following the upcoming 122nd Ordinary General Shareholders’ Meeting scheduled for June 2026.
Among the key changes, Takefumi Shiga will become Chief Production Officer. Koji Sato, who currently serves as President and Operating Officer, will transition out of his role on the Board. Kenta Kon is set to take over as President and Chief Executive Officer and will also serve as a Member of the Board of Directors (Representative Director). Other executives such as Hiroki Nakajima and Yoichi Miyazaki will continue in their roles with added responsibilities; Nakajima remains Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer while Miyazaki becomes Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
The company also named new appointments among senior professional staff. Yasuhiro Arima will move from Toyota Motor North America, Inc. to become Deputy Chief Officer in the Japan Business Group. Masahiro Miyoshi will be seconded to Toyota Finance Corporation from his current position.
After the General Shareholders’ Meeting in June 2026, Akio Toyoda will remain Chairman of the Board of Directors (Representative Director). The board’s six candidates (excluding Audit and Supervisory Committee Members) are expected to be officially appointed after shareholder approval. Four directors serving on the Audit and Supervisory Committee are not subject to reappointment at this meeting due to their two-year terms.
Board member nominees include Akio Toyoda as Chairman; Kenta Kon as President; Hiroki Nakajima and Yoichi Miyazaki as Executive Vice Presidents; Shigeaki Okamoto and Kumi Fujisawa continue as outside or independent members. George Olcott chairs the Audit and Supervisory Committee, joined by Christopher P. Reynolds, Masahiko Oshima, and Hiromi Osada—all continuing in oversight roles.
