Toyota Motor Corporation announced on March 10 that it will participate in the 25th H2 & FC EXPO, also known as the International Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Expo, scheduled to take place at Tokyo Big Sight from March 17 to March 19.
The event is significant as it highlights Toyota’s ongoing efforts to promote hydrogen as a key fuel for achieving carbon neutrality and advancing a hydrogen-based society. The company plans to showcase its latest technologies and collaborative initiatives aimed at supporting the development of hydrogen infrastructure and mobility solutions.
During the expo, Mitsumasa Yamagata, President of Toyota’s Hydrogen Factory, will deliver a presentation focused on partnership initiatives for realizing a hydrogen society. Norimasa Matsuoka, Corporate Adviser and Executive Assistant to the President of Chiyoda Corporation, along with Yoshihiko Hamamura, Chief Project Leader at the Hydrogen Factory, are set to present an overview of a jointly developed water electrolysis system. Additionally, Toyota will host a talk session with representatives from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Aichi Prefecture about implementing hydrogen solutions in commercial vehicle sectors.
Exhibits at Toyota’s booth will include a diorama of the Honsha Plant water electrolysis system—on public display for the first time—as well as demonstrations of its third-generation fuel cell system. Scheduled presentations cover topics such as commercialization efforts involving a new 5-megawatt-class water electrolysis demonstration unit at Honsha Plant and strategies for advancing public-private collaboration in hydrogen mobility.
Toyota stated: “Achieving zero, and adding new value beyond it.” The company described its approach as addressing societal challenges by aiming to reduce negative impacts on people and the environment while seeking ways to improve lives for future generations.
Looking ahead, Toyota said it will continue working with regional governments and partners across all stages of hydrogen production, transport, storage, and use. The company emphasized its commitment to creating innovative products that support sustainable development goals while transforming into a mobility-focused enterprise.
