Toyota Motor North America, Inc. has announced a $912 million investment in five U.S. manufacturing plants to expand hybrid vehicle production capacity. The investment will be distributed among the Buffalo plant in West Virginia, Georgetown plant in Kentucky, Blue Springs plant in Mississippi, Jackson plant in Tennessee, and Troy plant in Missouri.

This funding is part of Toyota’s broader plan to invest up to $10 billion more in the United States over the next five years. With this new commitment, Toyota’s total investment since entering the U.S. market nearly 70 years ago is expected to reach close to $60 billion.

The company stated that this move aligns with its strategy of investing and producing locally while supporting local communities and offering diverse options tailored to local needs through a multi-pathway approach. Toyota currently employs about 50,000 people across the United States and has produced more than 35 million vehicles at its 11 manufacturing facilities.

A spokesperson for Toyota Motor Corporation said: “Toyota Motor Corporation works to develop and manufacture innovative, safe and high-quality products and services that create happiness by providing mobility for all.
