Vietcombank organized the “Vietcombank – For a Green Vietnam” tree-planting festival for Spring 2026 at the Den Sai Relic Site in Thu Lam Commune, Hanoi, on March 17.
The event underscores Vietcombank’s ongoing commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development. The bank aims to foster social responsibility and promote green initiatives among its employees and the wider community.
Phung Nguyen Hai Yen, Deputy CEO of Vietcombank and Chairwoman of the Headquarters Trade Union, opened the ceremony by emphasizing the importance of continuing Ho Chi Minh’s teachings on tree planting and sustainable growth. “For the benefit of ten years, plant trees; for the benefit of a hundred years, cultivate people,” she said.
This year’s festival follows an earlier launch held on March 1 at the Yen Tu Scenic Area. The programme marks its fifth consecutive year as part of celebrations for both the success of the 14th National Party Congress and National Unity Day on March 15. At that launch event, Nguyen Thanh Tung, Chairman of Vietcombank’s Board of Directors, said that this initiative is not only an annual activity but also a clear demonstration of Vietcombank’s commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development.
The bank highlights its five core cultural values—Trust, Standardisation, Innovation, Sustainability, and Humanity—and stresses their role in building a greener future. The annual tree-planting activity reflects unity among staff members while contributing to preserving a clean environment.
Each tree planted during these festivals is seen as a step toward creating a more sustainable future for Vietnam. According to organizers, such activities are intended to help build a greener country in harmony with nature as part of national development efforts.
