Vietcombank participated in the Red Sunday voluntary blood donation festival alongside more than 5,000 students and young volunteers at Van Hien University in Ho Chi Minh City on March 8.
The event highlighted the importance of community engagement and social responsibility through blood donation and welfare activities. Vietcombank contributed by organizing blood drives, supporting student programs, and providing social welfare assistance.
Many employees from Vietcombank branches across the city donated blood during the event. The bank has made voluntary blood donation an annual movement throughout its system. Between 2022 and 2025, employees donated more than 14,350 units of blood. In 2023 alone, with 6,886 units donated, Vietcombank was among nineteen organizations nationwide honored with the “Red Drop Award” by the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion.
Le Hoang Tung, Deputy CEO of Vietcombank, said: “For more than half a century of presence and development in HCM City, Vietcombank has not only made significant contributions to the city’s socio-economic growth but has also actively implemented community programs aimed at sustainable, humane, and responsible development. Over the past five years, our social welfare budget in the city has reached VND350 billion, accounting for 12.5 per cent of Vietcombank’s nationwide social welfare budget of VND2.8 trillion.”
During the festival, Vietcombank worked with organizers to provide VND600 million to build six gratitude houses for veterans and people with meritorious service facing difficult circumstances in Dong Thanh and Cu Chi communes. The bank also supported education by awarding one hundred scholarships and donating twenty computers to students from local universities.
Representatives from Vietcombank shared financial knowledge during a seminar session to help students raise awareness about financial safety in the digital era. The bank also set up an experience space that attracted many students interested in learning about its initiatives.
Vietcombank’s involvement was recognized by both event organizers and participants as contributing significantly to the success of Red Sunday 2026.
