Vietcombank has announced its participation as a key partner in the upcoming nationwide walking event “March Forward with Vietnam.” The event, organized by Nhân Dân Newspaper in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security, will commemorate several national milestones including the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.
During a press conference on August 11, Lê Quốc Minh, Member of the Party Central Committee and Editor-in-Chief of Nhân Dân Newspaper, addressed attendees. Đoàn Hồng Nhung, Member of the Board of Management and Director of Retail Banking at Vietcombank, said: “March Forward with Vietnam is a community initiative of unprecedented scale and meaning. For the first time, a walking event will take place simultaneously from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. on August 16, 2025, across 34 provinces and cities, reaching 3,321 communes, wards, and special administrative areas nationwide.”
The public can register for participation online through the official portal from July 25 to August 16.
At the press conference, representatives from program partners were recognized. This included Đoàn Hồng Nhung representing Vietcombank alongside other sponsors.
To support this initiative, Vietcombank has updated its VCB Digibank app interface with the “March Forward with Vietnam” theme. As part of its involvement, Vietcombank has pledged VND3 billion and is encouraging customers to donate to the “March Forward with Vietnam” account under the Vietnam Children’s Protection Fund. Additionally, between August 5 and September 3, Vietcombank is running a promotional campaign worth VND2.4 billion aimed at encouraging new customer support for disadvantaged students.
Đoàn Hồng Nhung stated that through the “One Billion Green Steps” initiative associated with this campaign, Vietcombank seeks to unite people across Vietnam in support of humanitarian values.
The initiative was launched on August 5 and has already received significant engagement; within one week Vietcombank customers contributed VND600 million to the fund. At the end of this campaign period, Vietcombank will publicly announce total donations via its website and social media channels.
