Vietcombank has been named the third strongest banking brand in the world, according to the Brand Finance Banking 500 2026 report released on Mar. 23 by global brand valuation firm Brand Finance. The bank also retained its position as the most valuable banking brand in Vietnam.
The recognition highlights Vietcombank’s continued growth and reputation within both domestic and international markets. It is the only Vietnamese bank to be included in the Top 10 of the world’s strongest banking brands, reflecting its strong standing amid increasing global financial competition.
According to Brand Finance, Vietcombank achieved a Brand Strength Index (BSI) score of 95.3 and maintained an AAA+ rating—the highest possible level for brand strength. This marks a one-place improvement from last year’s ranking, when it was fourth worldwide. In addition to its BSI score, Vietcombank’s brand value reached US$2.5 billion, representing a seven percent increase year-over-year and placing it at number 134 globally.
Brand Finance said that while brand value rankings often reflect market size and total assets, the BSI score measures factors such as reputation, customer trust, and effectiveness of brand strategy. “Vietnam’s banking sector is not only growing but also building trust at scale. Vietcombank’s recognition as one of the strongest banking brands globally shows that Vietnamese banks are steadily enhancing their position within the global financial system,” Alex Haigh, Managing Director for Asia-Pacific at Brand Finance said.
Brand Finance noted that key contributors to this achievement include preferential credit programs and supportive interest rate policies for businesses alongside customer-focused financial initiatives—efforts which have strengthened market confidence in Vietcombank’s services.
In addition to its global ranking, Vietcombank also placed third in terms of banking brand strength within the Asia-Pacific region. The bank’s presence among top global institutions demonstrates how Vietnamese banks are increasingly influencing competitive standards internationally.
