VinFast, the Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer, has entered into a partnership with Plugsurfing, an EV charging service provider in Europe. The agreement allows VinFast customers to access more than 1 million public charging points across 24 European countries using the VinFast app.
Plugsurfing has established a broad network over the past decade, connecting more than 2 million users to charging stations throughout Europe. In major markets such as Germany, France, and the Netherlands, over 550,000 charging points are available through this network.
As part of the deal, owners of VinFast VF 6 and VF 8 models will receive new charging cards at no cost. Existing account balances and charging history will be preserved during the transition to ensure continuity for customers.
The collaboration is intended to address challenges related to fragmented EV charging infrastructure in Europe. By providing unified access through its app, VinFast aims to simplify the process for drivers navigating multiple providers and platforms.
Ms. Le Ngoc Chi, CEO of VinFast Europe, said: “Our customer-centric philosophy drives every aspect of VinFast’s operations, and this partnership is a natural extension of that commitment. By teaming up with Plugsurfing, we’re not only expanding our charging network but also enhancing convenience and the overall experience for our customers, further accelerating the transition to electric vehicles in Europe.”
Ms. Sofia Diakhate, COO of Plugsurfing, shared: “We are excited to collaborate with VinFast in shaping a brighter and more sustainable EV future for Europe. Plugsurfing is constantly developing its network to deliver a more reliable, accessible charging experience, while actively supporting VinFast’s expansion across the continent.”
Currently in Europe, VinFast distributes two smart electric vehicle models—the VF 6 (B-segment) and VF 8 (D-segment)—and is considering additional products for local markets. The company continues expanding its dealer and distributor presence in France and Germany and partners with service providers such as ATU (Germany), Norauto (France), LKQ (the Netherlands), and Fixico for aftersales services.
Outside Europe, VinFast is extending operations into Indonesia, the Philippines, India, the Middle East, and North America as part of its global strategy focused on sustainable mobility.
VinFast operates as a subsidiary of Vingroup JSC—one of Vietnam’s largest conglomerates—and manufactures electric SUVs along with e-scooters and e-buses. More information about their activities can be found at https://vinfastauto.eu
