VinFast Philippines and Green GSM have provided assistance to residents of Cebu following the earthquake that struck on September 30, 2025. The companies responded to a request from local authorities and joined government-led relief efforts.

The Philippine government had already mobilized search and rescue teams, medical staff, and emergency services to help affected communities. VinFast and Green GSM contributed by donating a total of 10 million Philippine Pesos directly to Cebu Province. Local authorities will manage these funds for urgent needs such as essential supplies, support for families most affected, or rebuilding damaged infrastructure.

Pamela Baricuatro, Governor of Cebu province, received the donation on behalf of the local government. She said: “We are very grateful for your kindness, we will use this money to rebuild damaged schools, offices and support people to rebuild their houses. I would like to thank the group and hope that you will continue to accompany the government and people of Cebu.”

Green GSM began distributing aid in Cebu on October 1, one day after the earthquake. The company delivered 500 relief packages containing drinking water and food supplies to local authorities. Additional support from Green GSM includes mobile tents being sent to Cebu. All staff members are coordinating with local officials in rescue operations, supply distribution, and transportation logistics.

Antono Zara, CEO of VinFast South East Asia, stated: “We are deeply saddened and empathize with the significant losses experienced by the people of Cebu following the earthquake. VinFast and our partners are committed to standing with the local government and the community to help residentsstability as quickly as possible. With a strong sense of corporate social responsibility, we see this support not just as a duty, but as a meaningful way to contribute to the community.”

Dao Quy Phi, Managing Director of Green GSM Philippines added: “As soon as we received the call for help from the Cebu authorities, we immediately mobilized to provide tangible support from October 1st. We believe that the direct involvement of our drivers will help relief resources reach the people faster and more efficiently, reflecting Green GSM’s long-term commitment to standing with the local community.”

VinFast and Green GSM’s actions align with Vingroup Chairman Pham Nhat Vuong’s approach toward social responsibility; he has been recognized twice by Forbes as an “Asia’s Hero of Philanthropy.” Companies within Vingroup have previously contributed during natural disasters such as floods or epidemics like COVID-19 through various programs including education initiatives and free healthcare.

These recent efforts highlight VinFast’s ongoing commitment—alongside its partners—to supporting communities during crises while promoting corporate social responsibility.
