VinFast has received the “Accelerator of Indonesia’s Electric Vehicle Ecosystem” award at the detikcom Awards 2025, marking its second consecutive year of recognition at this event. The award highlights VinFast’s efforts in developing a comprehensive electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem in Indonesia.
The judging panel for the detikcom Awards praised VinFast for its long-term vision and rapid implementation in building a green ecosystem. Since entering the Indonesian market less than two years ago, VinFast has launched a range of fully electric vehicles, including models such as VF 3, VF 5, VF 6, VF e34, and VF 7. The company focuses on three main areas: high-quality products, inclusive pricing, and strong aftersales support.
VinFast has also introduced several policies aimed at encouraging public adoption of electric vehicles. The company has expanded partnerships with organizations like Green SM, an all-electric taxi service; V-Green, a charging infrastructure developer; and various dealerships and financial institutions to provide broad support for customers.
In addition to product launches and partnerships, VinFast is preparing to open an assembly plant in Subang. This facility is expected to create thousands of jobs and contribute to Indonesia’s EV industry growth.
The detikcom Awards are recognized as one of Indonesia’s top honors across fields such as economics, politics, technology, and renewable energy. Winners are chosen by an independent panel based on criteria including innovation capability and social impact.
This year’s ceremony carries the theme “Honoring the Architects of Nusantara – Illuminating Indonesia’s Future,” highlighting contributions that have had a lasting impact on the country’s development.
Mr. Kariyanto Hardjosoemarto, CEO of VinFast Indonesia said: “We are deeply honored to be recognized for our contributions to the journey toward a more sustainable and innovative Southeast Asia. This award not only reinforces confidence in VinFast’s vision for advancing the global green transition, but also fuels our commitment to innovate, expand, and lead in delivering sustainable mobility solutions for everyone. It stands as a powerful testament to the promise we uphold: ‘Move People Ahead – Bring the Nation Forward’ in Indonesia – a country we proudly regard as our ‘second home’ in our mission to build a greener future for the world.”
VinFast has received other recent accolades in Indonesia. Last year at the detikcom Awards it was honored for its battery subscription model with an award recognizing its role in driving green transition efforts. More recently it earned “The Best Newcomer Electric Car” award at Carvaganza Editors’ Choice Awards; four awards at the Surabaya International Motor Show; two CNN Indonesia Awards for innovation in sustainable mobility and contribution to energy independence; and two honors from Road to CNBC Indonesia Awards for pioneering brand status and best compact SUV (VF 7).
Internationally, VinFast was ranked 101st on TIME Magazine’s Asia-Pacific’s Best Companies list for 2025 and won six awards at the APAC Effie Awards this year.
